One Night Different

WELCOME to the music website for Deian McBryde ("Dharmashakti"), vocalist and Kirtanist.

JAZZ: "When I was a child, my family would have impromptu dances in the living room. With my father playing big band music, we'd all choose partners or dance solo and spin, swing and sway. At school, I'd listen to the popular music -- everything from the B52s to Styx -- and at home, there'd be big bands playing."

KIRTAN: "After my car accident, I decided to find some physical healing by becoming a yoga instructor. Before long, it was the gentle philosophy of yoga that began to speak loudest to me. Using the traditional Kirtan technique, we can explore these lessons; using non-traditional sounds and forms, we can give them context and a fresh perspective. I love doing that."
